Who may buy adult-use cannabis in New Jersey
The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC) says residents and visitors 21 or older may buy from licensed cannabis dispensaries. Start with its recreational cannabis guide and use the official dispensary finder linked there.

Purchase amount and possession cap are different
NJ-CRC says a dispensary transaction may include up to the equivalent of 28.35 grams (1 ounce) of usable cannabis. Separately, state law allows adults 21+ to possess up to 6 ounces of cannabis and cannabis products. A single-purchase amount and total possession amount are not interchangeable.
Where to check use and driving rules
NJ-CRC links separate guidance for safe consumption, workplace rules, and DUI. Check those current rules, local restrictions, property policies, and the applicable venue before consuming. This page does not imply that use in public or while driving is allowed. See New Jersey's cannabis laws index for state materials. For the separate federal/state boundary, see U.S. cannabis-law basics.
