Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Card Renewal: OMMA Checklist
This process summary is based on Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) patient guidance checked September 24, 2026. The OMMA portal is the source of truth for your personal expiration date, current forms, and application status.
Start with your OMMA account and expiration date
Sign in to the OMMA licensing portal and confirm whether the card is a standard adult license or a short-term license. OMMA describes standard adult licenses as valid for up to two years and short-term in-state licenses as valid for up to 60 days. Do not use a generic calendar date; rely on the expiration shown in your account/card.
Renew the physician recommendation
OMMA's patient FAQ says an adult recommendation form must be dated within 30 days of the application submission. Before booking, check OMMA's registered-physician page: effective January 1, 2026, OMMA says recommending physicians must complete required education and register with OMMA. Do not assume a physician's earlier approval means their OMMA registration is complete.
Gather documents before submitting
Use the live OMMA checklist. The current patient guidance calls for identity and Oklahoma residency proof, an acceptable recent photo, physician information/signature, and the recommendation form. Applicants seeking a reduced fee must provide the specific current Medicaid/SoonerSelect, Medicare, or 100%-disabled-veteran documentation OMMA lists. Check the portal for the fee shown for your case; fees and processing charges can change.
Submit and track the application
Submit the complete renewal through the OMMA portal before the displayed expiration date. OMMA says it processes patient applications within 14 business days; printing and mailing may add time. Monitor email and the portal for incomplete-document notices and respond through the portal. This timeline is not a promise of approval or postal delivery by a specific date.
